The Village Hall Management Committee
The St James Village Hall is overseen by an elected Management Committee of volunteers from the village.
It is a registered charity – No: 279842
Committee Members:
There is a revolving chair for each Committee meeting.
The 5 strong team is:
- Caroline Rodbourne (Treasurer)
- Lynda Bradley (Events)
- Ruth Jewson (Bookings Secretary)
- David Jewson (Maintenance)
- Gina Banns (Committee Secretary)
Caroline, Lynda and David are also Trustees

We would like all users to enjoy the hall and make good use of it.
Check the outside notice board as well as the one in the lobby for what’s happening in the hall.

The management committee produces an annual programme of events and works with volunteers to make them happen.
Some of the Committee’s tasks
Some of the things we do on behalf of the village:
- Preparing an annual calendar of Events
- Liaising with the Church and Orchard
- Organising event volunteers, food, raffles etc.
- Advertising events and delivering leaflets
- Consulting the village about new events
- Getting tables, chair and lighting ready for events
- Keeping the Hall safe and in good repair
- Painting and similar DIY jobs
- Keeping the grounds safe and tidy
- Marketing the Hall for private bookings and income
- Hall and allotment bookings and payment
- Opening the Hall and key management
- Arranging cleaning, insurance, electrical checks etc.
- Fundraising and finding grants
- Financial records and banking
- Researching and purchasing equipment
- Formulating policies and essential documentation
