Kestrel chick 1 - June 2015 This year the top floor of the owl box was taken by kestrels. One of the chicks took to coming down onto the perimeter path where it was found peering out from the undergrowth.

Kestrel chick 3 - June 2015 …and proved it could fly by heading back to the safety of the box Sadly, both chicks were found dead, their remains scattered around the orchard, a few days after these pictures were taken.
