St James South Elmham Village Hall

Welcome to St James Village Hall, with its excellent, spacious facilities for activities, exercise, parties and events, situated in the very centre of St James.

Our Hall is a large building which celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2023 and has been continuously maintained and improved. It is the centre for a wide variety of village events and activities and, with its extensive facilities, is a popular venue hired by organisations from a wide surrounding area.

The Hall can be hired for up to 100 people for private functions such as wedding receptions, parties, children’s parties, training sessions, society and club meetings, music events, wakes and so much more. It can also be booked on a regular basis for sporting activities or private events.

The Hall’s own car park has space for 50+ cars accessed directly from St James Lane. There is disabled access from the car park into the Hall where there are disabled toilet facilities. The large, new kitchen is fully equipped with extensive cooking facilities and equipment and tables and chairs, table linen, glassware, china and cutlery etc. are all available.

We have a full-sized, marked-out badminton court with a high ceiling and sprung wooden floor, making it one of the best halls in the area for badminton. We also offer 2 high-quality table tennis tables and can provide bats and balls.

Current regular activities in the Hall are Pilates, badminton (4 sessions per week, for all abilities), short tennis and pickleball and table tennis. The equipment for all the sports activities can be included in the hire for private parties and include hula hoops, skipping ropes and table-top football There is also a large stage with side access and full curtains. Craft sessions are particularly popular.

There is direct access from the rear of the Hall to a large, grassed area for outdoor Hall-related activities, and to the one-acre St James Village Green for general recreation and larger outdoor activities and events. A large marquee is available for hire and there is an outdoor electrical supply.
